Kris Hagel is Chief Information Officer of Peninsula School District in Gig Harbor, Washington, where he oversees IT and school safety and security, and leads the district's work putting AI to use in both teaching and operations. He has spent more than 25 years in K-12 education technology.
He serves on the CoSN Board of Directors, holds the Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL) credential, and was named a District Administration Top 100 Education Leader in 2025. He speaks nationally, from AASA's AI Super Summit to Stanford, on AI leadership, AI agents, district-built tools, inclusive technology and student phone policy.
